Based on the Social Assistance Act and the Long-Term Care Act, the Association of centres for social work stipulates the Catalogue of public authorities, statutory tasks and services of Social Work Centres.
The Catalogue provides a framework for the consistent implementation of Social Work Centre tasks and supports the operation of the unified social assistance information system. It defines professional standards, norms, and tasks in the areas of child and family protection, adult safeguarding, financial assistances, social assistance services, coordination, and long-term care.
The Catalogue was developed in cooperation with the Faculty of Social Work of the University of Ljubljana (SI) and social assistance professionals from Social Work Centres.
Each task includes its purpose, target users, legal basis, responsible professionals, and the applicable standards and norms. The Catalogue is regularly updated to reflect legislative changes and the evolving responsibilities of Social Work Centres. The published edition of the Catalogue was adopted in December 2025 and submitted to the competent ministry for approval of the standards and norms.
